The Tobacco Industry

Tobacco companies spend a lot of money to promote their products, from movies and advertisments to sponsorships. They want people to see tobacco as a "cool" thing to use and they have used deceitful methods of trying to attract you to tobacco industry products. For the longest time tobacco industries were denying that tobacco industry products were harmful, also   stating that they "believed" nicotine was  not addictive.

US tobacco cheifs swore to tell the truth before a congressional committee on April 14, 1994 and lied saying, "I believe that nicotine is not addictive". Don't beleive it? Check out the following links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JkcHW_w114

Tobacco Industry Denormalization (TID)

TID is a public health strategy that tells the public the truth about the tobacco industry's role as the disease vector in the development and continuation of the tobacco epidemic.

Teaching people that the tobacco industry is not normal, or legitimate, and why it's marketing falls outside the norms of behaviour of legitimate and ethical business.
